Stef and I are both Perfusionists and met working together in the Pacific Northwest. I moved there in 2008 and fell in love with the lush, green landscape and the plentiful outdoor opportunities. When Stef moved there in 2009 from central New York, she fell into step with my admiration for the area.
Stef eventually bought Beastie and this propelled us into more exploration all over Washington and Oregon and even up into British Columbia.
Through this exploration, Stef became involved with a company called CVT and was asked to do a video for them. CVT is originally out of Bend, OR and is well known for their roof-top tents and other overlanding gear.
In April of 2018 I accompanied Stef down to Pacific City to assist with the shooting of this video. We met with Ryan and Cole of Port Side Productions* at a brewery right on the coast to discuss the weekends events and then found a campsite for the weekend.
As is common in the PNW, the weather was dreary and rainy the entire weekend and the wind off the water was bone-chilling. Stef pulled out the tent on her truck and set it up numerous times on the beach. She drove all over the beach getting shots. She walked and ran with Riley on the beach. We drove up in the hills surrounding the area for some great drone footage.
I think she still has sand stuck in her truck from the weekend spent here but, in the end, the video came out pretty amazing. Sadly, it was never shown so I am linking the video below along with my backstage pics of the weekend. I believe the video needs to be shared and I truly hope it accomplishes its goal of inspiring others to get out and explore.
